There are many possible sources of statistical information. Depending on the information needed, you may want to consult a general statistical source such as Statistical Abstract of the United States or a more specialized source such as Digest of Education Statistics. A good place to begin looking for statistics is FedStats. This site serves as a gateway to statistics from over 100 federal agencies. The Census website is also an excellent source of statistics on a variety of subjects.

In addition to these websites, there are numerous print reference works that provide both general and more focused statistics. The reference librarians can help you locate these print sources as well as additional online sources.
